1. Owners and companies

PRS Rohrsanierung GmbH (PRS) was a subsidiary entirely owned by Preussag Wasser und Rohrtechnik GmbH (PWR). Preussag Wasser und Rohrtechnik GmbH was a subsidiary totally owned by Preussag AG and belonged to the business field of plant construction. With the sale of Preussag´s activities in the plant construction and shipbuilding, PWR and thus PRS were taken over by the Babcock Borsig AG in 1999.

In June 2000, PRS Rohrsanierung GmbH was taken over by PREUSS GmbH, which had already aquired before the sister company, PRT Rohrtechnik GmbH.

2. Historical development

Many years, pipe rehabilitation was a completing division to the department of pipeline laying (division: PRT). By taking over the total shares of IMBEMA Group by Preussag Anlagenbau GmbH (today: PWR Wasser und Rohrtechnik GmbH), the divistion of pipe rehabilitation was further develop in 1989.

A contribution of this development was the takeover of "Klug" activities in the pipeline rehabilitation by IMBEMA in 1992. Simultaneously, 20% of the shares were sold to a private person. However, these were redeemed in 1994.

In 1992, the IMBEMA Rohrservice GmbH changed the name into Preussag Rohrsanierung GmbH.

In 1994, PWR got sole ownership again. PWR Wasser und Rohrtechnik GmbH implemented its activities in the pipe rehabilitation section into Preussag Rohrsanierung GmbH in 1997. Additionally, Preussag IMBEMA Klug GmbH and Imbema U-liners merged with PRS GmbH in the same year. It was the target to improve the market position of PRS by combining the activities in the pipe rehabilitation.

Berlin, Bad Friedrichshall and Spenge are further locations in Germany besides the official headquarters in Hanover.

The successful strategy of holding companies abroad has enabled the company to access to the local markets of their holdings during the past two years. These foreign holding companies contributed to the group´s turnover by approx. 50% in the financial year of 1998/1999.

1994  Formation of Preussg Rohrtechnik GmbH to Preussag Rohrsanierung GmbH combined with a rise of the share capital.
Increase in the proportion to IMBEMA U-Liners GmbH to 51%.
Foundation of the joint venture Wodopreuss in St. Petersbourg.
Aquisition of Kasatec Kanalsanierungs-Technik GmbH, Papenbourg, by PWR.

1996  Aquisition of shares of the Rib-Loc Group Ltd., Adelaide/Australia with continuous increase in the proportion to March 1999.

Foundation of SIPRE S.r.l., Roma and the holding company Preussag Pipe Rehabilitation Emirates LLC in Abu Dhabi, as well as Preussag Pipe Rehabilitation Ltda., Chile.
